Still Dancing

I had my second jazz dance class tonight, so I'm pretty beat (ie. this will be brief). Class was fun - much better the second time around now that I know some of the steps and my body has had a full week to recover from that massacre of a class last week. My body is exhausted but not so much in pain which is a good sign. I'm starting to like the choreography a little bit although she did switch it up a little this week.
I had a coffee today with one of my former coworkers from my consulting days (who coincidentally works here now - very small world). We took a good hour to catch up on what's new in each other's lives (I told him about Milan, he told me about his new wife :-) ). We're going to get together again soon so I can meet this wife of his that I'm hearing so much about. I also had lunch today with a guy I had initially met at the African American Business Council networking event my first week on the job. I randomly ran into him a few weeks back in the cafe and he remembered me (I confess I didn't know who he was) and suggested we get together for lunch. It was a little random but he turned out to be pretty cool people. He showed me a new part of the skyway that I had never seen before with new food options so who knows, I might actually start getting out of the office more at lunch now that I know there's more than Subway and Panera to eat.
This week is my last week of training, so I'm in department a lot with a few "putting it all together" type training classes scattered through the week. I'm responsible for leading our team meeting this week which includes driving the agenda and giving a financial report (we switch up who leads it every week and the team lead is also responsible for bringing in breakfast for Friday's team breakfast). Next week was my week but since I'll be in Philly recruiting at Wharton, my mentor switched with me. Our team meeting was supposed to be today but it got moved to tomorrow so that will be my big deliverable for the week I guess. I've also been working on reforecasting our sales plans for one of my mentor's brands which is a good learning experience. I signed up to take a textiles class as well, which will give me a good background on the fabrics we use within the company and provide some of the textile knowledge that I lack (yeah, we don't really learn about textiles in business school). So it should be a fun week. Next week is my first full week in department, and I'll be heading to Philly later in the week so it should be a short one. Ok, I said this would be brief. I'm exhausted. Later...
