The Wire

Awwww man!!! Ok so let me bring y'all up to speed. For Christmas, my brother Kevin (who I have given the title of "Best Brother in the World" until he gets on my nerves) bought me "The Wire" on DVD - all 5 seasons. So I've been on hiatus from the real world for the past 3 weeks as I've been catching up on the series that I only caught in bits and pieces when it initially aired. So in 3 weeks I've gotten through 4 seasons. In the one I just watched (last episode of season 4) one of my favorite characters was killed - Bodie. My heart just broke a little bit :-) I don't even want to watch season 5 now - my two favorite characters are gone: Bodie and Stringer (the scrumptious Idris Elba). Even Avon was missing from season 4. I can't make up my mind about Marlo - I loved him in season 3 but he looks like a little kid so I'm having a hard time believing his character. Yes I know, I have a pattern of liking the bad guys. Give me another week and I'll be through season 5 (I'm hoping for some new characters for me to gravitate towards). What on earth will I do when the series is over and I have to go back to the real world??? The only other series that I have on DVD, that I haven't already seen, is Friends. And that show has nothing on "The Wire". I can't believe this show hasn't won more awards - its excellent. More to come...
