Jamie

So I just got back from the Jamie Foxx concert and all I can say is, that man is ridiculously talented! Let me preface this by saying, I don't own any Jamie Foxx albums and don't know much of his music beyond what has been on the radio. And I still had a great time. Unfortunately (for him), he didn't come anywhere close to selling out the Target Center (fyi, Target's name is on everything in this town). That's where the Timberwolves and the Lynx play - he only managed to fill up about half of the arena (that's more than I can say for the Timberwolves). But fortunately (for me) that meant that I ended up in even better seats than what I paid for (and the seats I paid for were already pretty good). I went with the intern (her name is Erika), who talked me into going a few weeks back. Jamie performed for over 2 hours and managed to interject some comedy into the show as well. At one point he held a "dance contest" where he had 4 girls come on stage and battle it out by winding to one of his songs. Ok now three of the girls were "thick" (to put it mildly) and one was Caucasian with no backside whatsoever. His commentary was so hilarious I was practically falling out of my seat at one point. The show included a "Ray" re-enactment, some piano playing by Jamie, and also a bit of drumming. My favorite part was when he did "she has her own" (minus Fabolous and Neyo - I LOVE that song). His voice is just ridiculous (its amazing how many pitches he can hit) and his music is just good music all around. I had a good time. If you get a chance to see him in your city, I would definitely recommend going to see him.
On a different note, I had to leave work yesterday morning to go back to the doctor. The itching had gotten so bad that I had woken up two nights in a row at 3am, scratching myself profusely (yes, I must have looked like a crackhead). This time I went to my primary care doctor, instead of the clinic at work. She wasn't much help. At one point she was on the clinic's website looking for information and all I could think was "really? Is this what I'm paying a $35 copay for? I could've looked on the website myself". She was trying to find out how long it would take for this rash and itching to go away. She never did find an answer. She prescribed me a steroid, and an anti-itch pill. I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up the steroid prescription because I read online (yes I've done my own research online) that I shouldn't take a steroid without also taking a "probiotic". I don't know exactly what that is (my pre-med days were over a decade ago) but I know my doctor didn't prescribe one, and I'm very particular about putting medications into my body - I avoid it unless its absolutely necessary. I will say though that last night was the first night I was able to sleep through the night without the severe itching (there was still lots of itching, just not as severe). I didn't do anything differently but I am trying to drink lots of fluids to flush the antibiotic out of my body. My doctor said she thinks the amoxicillin is still in my system in large enough amounts to cause the itching that I'm experiencing now. So hopefully drinking lots of water will help. I'm hoping it gets better. Soon. Goodnight y'all.
